About

As a first generation born to Uruguayan, immigrant parents, her humble days began in the city of Los Angeles California. Silvana cannot recall the day she first picked up a crayon, but she remembers the feeling. Being able to create an entire universe from her own imagination is what captivated her interest.

Destined from birth with the last name Paredes (meaning walls in Spanish), she took her childhood inspirations to another level, when she began painting Graffiti in the Inland Empire, during the early 90’s. A scene composed of different cultural backgrounds welcomed her with open arms and freedom of expression. It provided her with a sense of self in an environment where social, racial and economic differences shared a common ground. Hip Hop implemented the fundamentals that helped develop her style.

Once Silvana realized that her skill was able to empower the youth, it led her to teach art while attending UC Riverside. After a long journey through the school system- switching majors and contemplating the future, Silvana came to a conclusion that painting was the only way to happiness.

Freelancing has been way of life since then. It has given Silvana the opportunity to work with incredible artist and iconic individuals such as: Sonya Fe, Judy Baca, Dolores Huerta, Morrissey and many more.

Nowadays, Silvana’s inspired by nature, celestial bodies and indigenous ways. Find her painting and teaching while traveling around the world.
